PCSC Launches "Patent Pending" Fault Tolerant Systems and Controllers

PCSC, a leading manufacturer of products and services for electronic access control and facility management applications, announces the introduction of the “Next Generation” controllers and systems. The first “Fault Tolerant” architecture system has been designed to provide redundant processing of its system software, LiNC-NET and its “Fault Tolerant” controllers.

High reliability and security is sustained through a built-in self-healing process upon either critical hardware or communications failure. In 2004, PCSC’s LiNC-Ez product family evolved into a Building Management solution that can start by addressing the simple needs of the homeowner, but can grow to address the security and management needs for schools, small businesses and property managers. The LiNC-Ez family was designed around the principles of quality, ease of use, and advanced electronics features at a low price.

The LiNC-Ez family begins with the LiNC-Ez software, a Windows based package to makes data entry and control simple. Beginning with its guided walkthrough to make the system operational when first installed to the simple side taskbar menu icons to find the action you want to accomplish to open, friendly windows containing the data to be modified, LiNC-Ez software facilities the system definition and data entry to take advantage of the various features available.

In conjunction with the LiNC-Ez software, two optional software packages provide additional functionality to address specific security or people management needs. First, the EZ-ID photo identification software and equipment provides the ability to capture pictures, define templates and then print badges for employees and visitors at any facility. In addition to the software, the EZ-ID package provides a digital camera and photo id printer, all the basics to get started.

Second, PCSC offers its new LiNC-View graphical mapping software with integrated interfaces to both LiNC-Ez and Dedicated Micros Digital Video Recording units. This software provides the ability to import any image in a Windows Meta File (WMF) format and then assign icons to represent alarm points, cameras, doors and other security devices. Multiple maps can be created and linked to allow a hierarchical interface for anyone watching and monitoring the LiNC-Ez system.

While the LiNC-Ez software provides the functionality and ability to manage the system, PCSC has developed a line of electronic controllers that provide the heart for this security and building management system. Initially, PCSC introduced the IQX, a low cost, simple to install two door access control panel. The family then grew with the addition of the NRX controller, a two door controller which also provided additional inputs and outputs to monitor and manage devices aside from just the two doors. Then in early 2004, PCSC introduced the innovative iAM controller which combined 21 zones of alarm monitoring, central station reporting and one door of access control in a single, low cost controller. The latest addition to the LiNC-Ez family is the IOX controller, which provides the ability to monitor 16 devices and react via 8 output relays. The feature unique to the IOX is that the 16 input points can be programmed for any one of three situations : open/close device, 5 state device monitoring or a high and low analog temperature sensing ability. The ability for one set of contacts to handle both electrical or analog inputs, based on programming via the LiNC-Ez software in a low cost controller is unique to this industry.

Overall, the LiNC-Ez product family provides an easy to install and low cost platform for alarm dealers, locksmiths, gate installers, security integrators and central stations to offer to a wide range of customers from homeowners to schools to storage facilities to mom and pop businesses to parking facilities to property management companies. The LiNC-Ez products offers the wide range of features ranging from alarm monitoring, central station notification, access control, temperature sensing and control, graphic map monitoring, DVR control and photo id badging. Torrance, California – January 13, 2003 – PCSC Introduces LiNC-PLUS Version 3.5 for Windows 2000
PCSC has released an upgraded version of LiNC-PLUS for Windows integrated access control and security management software. LiNC-PLUS, the original version of which debuted at the PCSC ASIS 2002 booth, is designed to integrate, control and manage
electronic security components and subsystems into a networked integrated security management solution. The software integrates electronic security products and
subsystems from multiple manufacturers into a single, centralized and functional security system. Integration components can include programmable logic controllers (PLC), video badging, burglar alarm, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, digital video, intercom systems, perimeter detection and parking/gate control.

“With the arrival of LiNC-PLUS 3.5, PCSC is able to offer customers a more elegant, genuine and seamless integration of all components of their existing security systems,”
said Bob McKee, PCSC’s Vice President of Business Development. “This software transforms a site’s current array of subsystems, with the usual expected variety of brands, into a single enterprise system network. IQ 200 -
The IQ 200 is now available with an optional “Onboard” Ethernet. It is an option and can be ordered as part of the IQ 200. You will still be able to upgrade an IQ 200 with the “Add On Ethernet” adapter if you forget. The new Onboard Ethernet is lower cost than purchasing the “Add On” Ethernet adapter as an upgrade. The IQ 200 also has improved electronics for surges and diagnostic features as Transmit and Receive communication LEDs for real-time communication notification for the Host (LiNC-NET, XSM, EBI, Vigilos, Intelli-Site, Alarm View, Lobby, Columbus, etc.

Add On Ethernet – Available Now
The Add On Ethernet is an “upgrade” device to convert your existing IQ or SIM controller into an Ethernet based communication device without the need for a terminal server. The power supply of the IQ or SIM provides the necessary power for the Ethernet adapter and does not require an additional power supply like the Terminal Server.
