Altronix VertiLine™ Video Power Supplies Are Now UL Listed In The U.S. And Canada.

Altronix, the leading manufacturer of low voltage power supplies and related products for the electronic security industry, announces that their VertiLine™ series of rack mount power supplies for video surveillance systems are now UL listed in the United States and Canada.

VertiLine Rack Mount Video Power Supplies offer 24VAC or 28VAC which is selectable by output to compensate for voltage drop, and an “off” position to allow for service without shutting down the entire system.

VertiLine units are available in 8, 16 or 24 outputs in a compact 1U rack mount chassis for standard 19” EIA racks. The power supplies offer total power output ranging from 5 to 17 amps, and are available with either external blade fuses or resettable PTC protected outputs. Models with electronically isolated outputs are also available.

The following Altronix products are UL listed in the U.S. and Canada (units with 115VAC input): VertiLine8C, VertiLine8CD, VertiLine83C, VertiLine83CD, VertLine16C, VertiLine16CD, VertiLine166C, VertiLine166CD, VertiLine24C, VertiLine 24CD, VertiLine246C and VertiLine 246CD.

Altronix Unveils VertiLine™ Series Rack Mount Video Power Supplies.

Altronix VertiLine Rack Mount Power Supplies are UL and cUL Listed and are designed to power 8, 16 or 24 video cameras. They feature 24VAC / 28VAC / OFF power output settings with total power output ranging from 5 to 17 amps max. current. Models are available with either easy to replace external blade type fuses or PTC protected power limited outputs. In addition, models with electronically isolated outputs are also available. Units operate at 115VAC or 230VAC input.

All VertiLine are housed in a compact 1U rack mount chassis for use in standard EIA 19” racks and come complete with removable terminal blocks with locking screw flange for ease of installation. For at-a-glance power status, the unit features individual power LED indicators and an illuminated power disconnect circuit breaker with manual reset. VertiLine is equipped with an IEC-320 connector with a detachable power line cord.

Altronix, the industry leader in low voltage power solutions, has made the long awaited announcement of its entry into networked power solutions here at ASIS 2008. The company is also showing a number of new and innovative systems products that deliver more than just power to provide integrated functionality for professional video, security and life safety applications.

New power solutions from Altronix include: PoE (Power over Ethernet) and PoN (Power over Network) power supplies for PoE compliant and conventional IP cameras; cost-effective StrikeIt2 Panic Device Power/Controller for single door applications; UL listed 16 output Rack Mount Power Supplies with selectable 12VDC and/or 24VDC rated at 18 amps max; and NAC Power Extenders that now meet UL 9th Edition.

Power over Network (PoN) is a term coined by Altronix to describe a new series of power supplies designed specifically for the myriad IP cameras now on the market that are not PoE compliant. Until now, these cameras typically had to be installed using individual local power supplies. Altronix’s new PoN power supplies deliver low voltage power to IP cameras over CAT5 cabling up to 100 meters (328’). Altronix’s new PoN units provide system designers and installers with a very cost-efficient solution relative to equipment, cabling and installation costs.

Altronix’s Power over Ethernet (PoE) products include both mid-span and end-point solutions over CAT5 cabling up to 100 meters (328’). The units are engineered to deliver a reliable, cost-effective and performance enhancing solution backed by Altronix’s world renowned reputation and commitment to quality.

In addition to these new milestone network power solutions from Altronix, the company is also introducing:

The StrikeIt2 Panic Device Power Controller is an economical solution for single door applications. The new unit operates one 24VDC panic hardware device with an auxiliary power output for peripherals such as a card reader, keypad, REX, PIR, timer or relay.

The UL listed 16 output Rack Mount Power Supplies feature four groups of outputs selectable for 12VDC and/or 24VDC rated at 18 amps max. Features include LED indicators for each group of outputs, and filtered and electronically regulated PTC protected outputs with short circuit and thermal overload protection. The unit’s 2U rack mount chassis is designed for use in standard EIA 19” racks.

Altronix is also showcasing their new series of NAC Power Extenders with UL 9th Edition listing for life safety systems. Four new models are available offering installers a variety of choices to meet local codes and power requirements.

New Altronix HubSat Transmits Multiple Video Signals
Over A Single Cable. Localizes Camera Power While Eliminating Voltage Drop

Altronix, the leading manufacturer of low voltage power supplies and accessories for the electronic security industry, is introducing the newest offering in their growing line of integrated solutions offering more than just power. The HubSat remote video/data/power accessory module allows the transmission of four video signals over one CAT5E/6 or higher cable and is designed to interface with all new Altronix HubWay and HubWayLD models. It can be installed as a stand-alone passive receiver Hub with integral power on board.

“Our new HubSat module further increases the cost efficiencies of networked systems by allowing video signals from four cameras to be transmitted over a single cable run without affecting the quality of the video feeds,” said Alan Forman, President, Altronix Corporation. "As video surveillance installations become more complex, Altronix will continue to develop new products that address evolving needs and make installations easier and system performance better."

By injecting 24VAC and/or 28VAC out where the cameras are, Altronix HubSat completely eliminates the possibility of voltage drop due to long wire runs. The units are designed for installation in IDF closets or other remote locations in large facilities. For protection against voltage spikes, the units feature four built-in PTC-protected power outputs. HubSat is universally configurable for both AC and/or DC cameras when used in conjunction with the HubWay Series matching video balun/combiners.

With four-channel combined video and data (up to 750 feet), HubSat from Altronix can also be used as a cost-efficient standalone four-channel passive UTP receiver hub with integral distributed camera power outputs rated at 1 amp each.

Altronix’s new HubWayLD8S Active UTP Transceiver Hub with integral camera power transmits UTP video, RS422/RS485 data and power over a single CAT-5 (or higher) structured cable.

Features include 8 camera channels in a space saving 1U EIA 19” rack mount chassis, video transmission range up to 3000 ft. max. per channel, and compatibility with AC and/or DC fixed or PTZ cameras when utilizing Altronix’s HubWayA or HubWayD Video Balun/Combiners.

An optional HubSat4S Passive UTP Transceiver Hub with integral camera power can be used as an accessory module to transmit video from up to 4 cameras over a single CAT-5 (or higher) structured cable back to the HubWayLD8S.

In addition, the HubSat4S provides power to these cameras locally to eliminate the possibility of voltage drop associated with long camera runs.

New Altronix HubWayLD Delivers Video And Data Up To 3000 feet.

Altronix has also redesigned its HubWay UTP passive receiver hubs in the same space saving chassis with similar features and options with or without integral power for video transmission ranging up to 750 feet.

PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

Alan Forman was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and began his career at the apprentice level working for a local security company. Alan applied his interest and background in engineering during these early years at which time he learned the security trade through hands-on experience providing him exposure to a wide range of diversified security systems.

In 1974, Alan founded Arrow Protection Services Inc., which quickly grew to be one of the area’s leading companies in the installation and service of commercial and residential alarm systems with its own central station. During the course of expanding the business, Alan grew increasingly interested in developing a line of security components that delivered a higher degree of performance and quality.

With this vision in mind, Alan co-founded Altronix Corp. in 1984. Initial products included low voltage power supplies and controllers which progressed to more advanced products with UL listings. As sales escalated and Altronix’s reputation for quality products and excellent customer service grew, the company further expanded its business to include OEM custom design and manufacturing. Today Altronix offers the industry’s most extensive line of low voltage products for access control, automation, video surveillance, fire, security and nurse call applications.
